Editing Services

Shelly is an experienced editor with a good eye for detail and a great command of the English language, which is her native language. She's edited manuscripts translated into English, manuals and documentation from a variety of industries, marketing materials, and even fiction.

Shelly's editing services include more than just catching simple spelling and grammatical errors. She automatically edits for correct word usage, awkward sentence structure, and basic flow in all editing jobs. If requested, she will edit to specific guidelines or word count limitations. She can also make suggestions for streamlining and tightening the manuscript to improve the overall flow and presentation of the materials.

“The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that the English language is as pure as a crib-house whore. It not only borrows words from other languages; it has on occasion chased other languages down dark alley-ways, clubbed them unconscious and rifled their pockets for new vocabulary.”
- - James Nicoll (b. 1961), "The King's English"

"The difference between the almost-right word and the right word is really a large matter - it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning."
- - Mark Twain
